Jon, you're right. If you run an apparel website you don't need to use the term car, as it be more appropriate to use bag or similar terms. Particularities, like the target countries, were not take into account at the time I did this research. Thanks for the update and letting us know about the trolleys. We use that term here to describe the trolley cars :)

Traiann, it’s not necessarily about choosing between cart and bag, but more about which side of "the pond" your website is aimed at. In the UK, cart is hardly ever used, mainly because we use the word trolley instead of cart in shops. Note that Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk both use the same icon (image 8 above) but the words are cart and basket respectively. I would suggest that most UK based sites use the word basket.

SEO nowadays seems to be both the saviour and nemesis of Internet marketing. On one hand SEO is so complicated that you have to be an egg-head to understand the algorithms. On the other hand - Next email tells you that SEO is easy and that a site can be indexed in 17 minutes. Glad that you're leading people through the mist with your advice.

Peace Out

Finally my website disappeared and I contact them and after few hours I got this reply:

Went to my website there's nothing, checked cpanel the "public_html" and "www" both were empty, and there's only one file left "cgi-bin".

So I lost my website, money, time and two and half years hard work and got Canaca's apologizes.

anyway you can reduce the bounce rate is going to be beneficial. If you can find "bugs" on your site by looking at return vs new visitors, go ahead, do it.

it makes sense to analyze the data in new and returning visitors terms. btw, make sure you look at the bounces and not only at the bounce rate. Rates can sometimes be misleading.

Just an addon to the thoughts above, would it be fair to reduce the bounce rate of new visitors by the return visitor bounce rate to get a 'true' bounce rate for new visitors?

I've spent a lot of time struggling to bring my bounce rate down to acceptable levels which I've gathered from related articles is around 25%.
I achieve this rate easily with returning visitors however I've been focusing only on new visitors and it is proving to be very difficult to bring that down below 50% and on paid campaigns its closer to 70%, is this a general trend ?
Doesn't it make sense to split the bounce rate into new and returning visitors?
